ಮಾಗಡಿ ಪುರಸಭೆಯ ಕಿರು ಪರಿಚಯ:

• ಮಾಗಡಿ ಪುರಸಭೆಯು 1870 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಯಾಯಿತು.
• ಮಾಗಡಿ ಪುರಸಭೆಯು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಿಂದ ಕುಣಿಗಲ್ ದಾಬಸ್ ಪೇಟೆಗೆ ಹೋಗುವ ಸ್ಟೇಟ್ ಹೈವೆ ನಂ. 17ಇ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು 51 ಕಿ.ಮೀ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
• 2001 ರ ಜನಗಣತಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮಾಗಡಿ ಪುರಸಭೆ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 25031 ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
• ಮಾಗಡಿ ಪುರಸಭೆ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 23 ವಾರ್ಡ್ ಗಳಿದ್ದು 23 ಚುನಾಯಿತ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಹಾಗೂ 4 ನಾಮನಿರ್ದೇಶಿತ ಸದಸ್ಯರಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ.
• ಮಾಗಡಿ ಪುರಸಭೆಯ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯು ಒಟ್ಟು 5.59 ಚದುರ ಕಿ.ಮೀ ಗಳಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
• ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರ ಮನದಲ್ಲೂ ಅಚ್ಚಳಿಯದೆ ಉಳಿದಿರುವ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ನಿರ್ಮಾತ್ರು ನಾಡಪ್ರಭೂ ಕೆಂಪೇಗೌಡರ ತವರೂರು ಮಾಗಡಿ
• ಮಾಗಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪುರಾತನ ಕೋಟೆ ಇದ್ದು, ಇದು ಸಹ ಪುರಸಭಾ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಗೆ ಒಳಪಟ್ಟಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
• ಪ್ರವಾಸ ತಾಣವೆಂದೆ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ದಿ ಪಡೆದ ಸಾವನದುರ್ಗ ಬೆಟ್ಟವು ಸುಮಾರು 11 ಕಿ.ಮೀ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿರುತ್ತದೆ. 
• ಮಾಗಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ದವಾದ ಪುರಾತನ ಕಾಲದ ರಂಗನಾಥ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ, ಸೋಮೇಶ್ವರ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನವಿದ್ದು, ಚೈತ್ರ ಮಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ರಂಗನಾಥ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಸೋಮೇಶ್ವರ ರಥೋತ್ಸವವು ವಿಜೃಂಬಣೆಯಿಂದ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ಜಾತ್ರೆಯ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವಿಧ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಿಂದ ಜಾತ್ರೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಕ್ಷೀಸಲು ಜನಸಾಗರವೇ ಹರಿದು ಬರುತ್ತದೆ.
• ಕೆಂಪೇಗೌಡನ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಗಡಿಯನ್ನು ಮೊದಲು ಮಹಾಗಣೀ ಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿಗಣಿ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.  ನಂತರ ಬ್ರಿಟಿಷರ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರಮೇಣ ಮಹಾಗಣೀ ಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿಗಣಿ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರು ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಮಾಗಡಿ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲಾಯಿತು.
• ಮಾಗಡಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಸಮುದ್ರ ಮಟ್ಟಕ್ಕಿಂತ 870ಮೀ ಎತ್ತರದಲ್ಲಿರುತ್ತದೆ.

• ಮಾಗಡಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಬೆಳೆಗಳೆಂದರೆ ರಾಗಿ,ಭತ್ತ,ರೇಷ್ಮೆ,ಶೇಂಗ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ.

Brief Introduction of Magadi TMC:

• The Town Municipal Council(TMC) Magadi was established in the year 1870
• The Magadi TMC is situated along with Bangalore - Kunigal State Highway No. 17 at a distance of 51 KM from Bangalore
• As per 2001 Census the Magadi Town population is 25031.
• Magadi Town Consists of 23 Wards and 23 Elected Couniclors and 4 Nominee Councilors.
• Total Area of Magadi TMC is 5.59 Sq.Kms
• Bangalore establisher "Nadaprabhu Kempegowda" native Magadi.
• The Magadi fort Comes under the Magadi Town limit.
• The Famous Tourist Place Savandurga hill is 11km from Magadi.
• The Famous ancient temples are Sri Ranganatha swami temple and Someswara Temple.  In the time of chaithra masa the rathothsava celebration will be held at both temples.
• In the period of Kempegowda the magadi was called as Mahagani or mahalakshmi gani.  Later the British regime called as Magadi.
